| ELIXIR PT just attended the ELIXIR-CONVERGE General Assembly Meeting.

The meeting started with the intervention of Niklas Blomberg, ELIXIR director, where he reinforced that ELIXIR-CONVERGE is on the forefront of establishing an European data federation through the interconnected development of the national operations of the distributed ELIXIR research infrastructure by implementing good life-science data management, reproducibility and reuse practices. He also announced two additional ELIXIR-CONVERGE WPs - WP7: Federated European Genome-phenome Archives for transnational access of COVID-19 host data; and WP8: European COVID-19 Data Platform - which are perfectly aligned with the ELIXIR's response to COVID-19.

After these brief opening remarks, WP1, WP2, WP3 and WP5 participants joined in break-out sessions to discuss several aspects of each WP. After deliberation, all WPs (including WP4 and WP6) presented its progresses and next steps for a general audience which were followed by a discussion regarding the need for collaboration.
